Recovery Stable

Recovery Stable is the Racehorse Division of Osteogen LLC.

The Recovery Stable is the home of our active research regarding the resolution of bone and joint issues in young thoroughbred horses.

We utilize both established advanced veterinary diagnostics and therapeutic modalities, and also incorporate the cutting edge therapies featured in our product BoneIn®

Horses may participate as controls or active recipients of Bonein® formulations.

If you are interested in having your horse participate in the Recovery Stable, please contact Dr. Ferguson for more info.

Graduating in 1983 Magna Laude, recipient of the then distinguished student clinician Upjohn Award, he went back to Teiglands where he was a practitioner for 4 years before moving to Ocala in 1987. He then went on to build a 10 man veterinary practice up until the 2008 recession at which time the practice disbanded and he went on to maintain the clinic as a sole practitioner focusing mainly on lameness and surgical issues in performance and racehorses. He has attended yearling sales since 1990 and has a keen interest in the clinical significance of radiographic findings found at these sales.

He is also extremely focused on the research endeavors of Osteogen and it’s possible cutting edge solution, using simple minerals, to address bone and joint issues, not only in horses, but also in people.

Dr Ferguson is the managing partner of not only Osteogen, but also Recovery Stable. The designated farm trainer is Keith Bilbrey. Born in Texas, but raised internationally, Keith’s path of training horses did not begin until after he graduated college.

In December of 1996 he took a job as a groom with his father’s trainer Roy Archer of Sunland Park just as a temporary break before pursuing graduate school. The hook was set, and eight months later he had his trainers license. It turns out that although he did not know him well Keith’s grandfather was a midwest jockey and trainer for many years and his father rode races for him for many years before following a career in international oil and gas.

When Keith’s father gave him the opportunity to train a few horses he teamed up with his brother in law Randy Read to run a mixed barn of quarter horses and thoroughbreds. In the process of doing so Keith worked also as an exercise rider for Eugene Weymouth, Michael Matz, Joe Orseno Jr. and Danny Pish. He was then an assistant to trainer to Steve Epley Jr., Mike Neatherlin, and Kari Craddock.

He also amassed 212 starts as a trainer on his own in Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Ohio, and West Virginia. He recently moved to Ocala, Florida with his wife, Shawnee, a trainer in her own right with 187 starts. Shawnee works closely with Dr. Ferguson as his technician and also as a assistant technician within the Osteogen organization. They are definitely defined as a horse family through and through.
